Mountain Top Historical Society installs officers

At the February meeting of the Mountain Top Historical Society held at the Ice House Pub in Mountain Top, Luzerne County Judge Richard Hughes presided over the installation of officers and newly appointed trustees. Judge Hughes has been a longtime member of the MTHS.

Saint Jude School PJAS Success

Saint Jude School took top place honors at the recent Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Sciences Regional Competition. The Nomads had seven Perfect Scores, fifteen First Places, and one Second Place. Connor Cinoski won the Excellence Award for Botany. St. Jude School also won the Excellence Award for Small Schools due to their highest percentage of perfect scores and first place awards. Special thanks to Mrs. Baran and Mrs. Rinehimer, the SJS PJAS moderators.

NEW YORK — Ann Godoff, a leading book publisher for more than 30 years with an eye for timely and timeless works from “Alexander Hamilton” and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” to current bestsellers by Gisèle Pelicot and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, has died. She was 76.

DRUMS — Residents of Drums and surrounding areas gathered Saturday, Feb. 21, for the Protect Your Energy Holistic Wellness Fair, a free open-to-the-public event featuring holistic services, crafts, tarot, food trucks, and handcrafted goods. Organized by NEPA CraftWorks and located at Carmen’s Country Inn and Gardens, the event was created to showcase local NEPA practitioners, small business owners, and artists focused on holistic themes and services.
