Rotary Club hosts designer purse bingo to benefit hunger-relief program

MOUNTAIN TOP — On March 1, the Rotary Club held its annual designer purse bingo, benefiting local students participating in the Backpack Program, a hunger-relief program by Feeding America that provides low-income students and their families with food for weekends and school breaks. Their efforts help provide nutrition during gaps when school lunches aren’t available.

Fairview Twp. Recreation Board to hold annual Easter egg hunt

MOUNTAIN TOP — Easter is on its way, and families will have an opportunity to enjoy some exciting holiday fun at the annual egg hunt organized by the Fairview Township Recreation Board in conjunction with Wright Township. The festivities will give children a chance to enjoy community events, search for colorful eggs filled with treats throughout the park, while parents and guardians assist the children and enjoy the festivities.

At the February meeting of the Mountain Top Historical Society held at the Ice House Pub in Mountain Top, Luzerne County Judge Richard Hughes presided over the installation of officers and newly appointed trustees. Judge Hughes has been a longtime member of the MTHS.
