The St. Jude Council No. 6440 of the Knights of Columbus recently presented the Shine Women’s Center in West Hazleton a check for $500 to assist its mission of support and counseling to women who are pregnant and are seeking help.
The Shine Women’s Center empowers women and families facing unexpected pregnancies in Luzerne County. It provides accurate information, free services and practical support with a holistic and compassionate approach.
Past Council No. 6440 Grand Knight and board member Bob Murphy; and Valerie White, Shine Center director, received the check from Council No. 6440 Program Director Dave Jaques as part of the continuing support provided to this organization.
Last year, the Knights raised the funds to acquire an ultra sound machine to expand the services the organization does for the community.
