St. Mary’s Church, Dorrance, held its annual bazaar on June 22 and 23. In addition to the fabulous potato pancakes, pierogi and haluski, the bazaar took on added significance this year as parishioners bid farewell to St. Jude/St. Mary’s parochial vicar (assistant pastor) Rev. Philbert Takyi-Nketiah who was transferred to administrator of Holy Spirit parish, Mocanaqua on July 1.
A native of Ghana, Father Philbert has served the two Mountain Top parishes for the last five years and has become a cherished member of the community.
