Lincoln Bibla took top honors for the second consecutive year at the 17th annual Crestwood High School football team Iron Man competition held at the high school on June 28.
Bibla, who will be a senior this fall, was awarded the Tanner Kahlau Memorial Trophy, named in honor of the late stellar Crestwood athlete who was killed in a skiing accident near Lake Placid in 2021. Kahlau, a 2016 Crestwood graduate, excelled in football, lacrosse and ice hockey.
The trophy was presented to Bibla by Crestwood head football coach Ryan Arcangeli. Finishing behind Bibla in a second place was Aleks Jaskiewicz.
Bibla’s older brother, Magnus, a 2023 Crestwood graduate, won the competition in 2022. Magnus Bibla is enrolled at the University of Buffalo where he is a member of the school’s wrestling team.
In all, 42 players from grades 9 through 12 participated in the event held at the football field. The players competed in five events: 135-pound bench press, tire flip, obstacle course, farmer’s walk, and sled push/pull. They also competed in a tug-o-war team competition. The top 10 finishers competed in the Gator push to determine won the 2024 Iron Man trophy.
