Crestwood High School Future Business Leaders of America enjoyed success at the 73rd Annual Pennsylvania Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference.

The event, held from April 7 to 10 in Hershey, saw the students shine brightly, showcasing their exceptional talents and skills in various competitive categories.

Crestwood FBLA emerged triumphant with an impressive number of awards, reaffirming the chapter’s commitment to excellence in education and leadership development. Crestwood FBLA students exhibited remarkable dedication, ingenuity, and professionalism throughout the competition, distinguishing themselves as rising stars in the world of business and entrepreneurship.

Crestwood FBLA earned the following chapter awards: fourth place for the William H. Selden Outstanding Chapter, eighth place for the Big 33 Service award for accumulating 1030 hours in volunteer work, fifth place for the American Enterprise Project, and was nominated by Pennsylvania FBLA to receive the Hollis and Kitty Guy Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit at the 2024 National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Forty-two Crestwood FBLA members competed at the state level in various events. The following students were winners in individual competitive events: Saif Rehman-Business Communications State Champion (advancing to compete at the National Leadership Conference), Shreema Rupareliya- Business Communications State Champion (advancing to compete at the National Leadership Conference), Owen Kline-sixth place in Business Communications, Kyra Bechtel-sixth place in Intro to Marketing Concepts, Kyle Orrson-seventh place in Business Communications, Michael Mullisky-eighth place in Accounting I, Onur Haltas, eighth place in Website Design, Cooper Laubach-ninth place in Intro to Parliamentary Procedure, and Alex Marich-ninth place in Coding and Programming.

The FBLA State Leadership Conference offered other opportunities outside of the traditional competitive events where Crestwood FBLA members also excelled. Onur Haltas placed fourth in the Stock Market and Investments open event. Michael Mullisky was awarded the Keystone Leader Award. Donnie Casterline, Scarlett Evans, Deven Hazlak, Derek Johnson, Trevor Miller, and Joshua Rotski were all named to FBLA National Business Honor Society. Additionally, Sophia Andahazy was selected as the SLC Management conference intern where she helped oversee the day to day logistics for the conference.
