Looking for a tray of specialty cookies for a baby shower?

Or, how about Oreo cookies that look like a tuxedo and a bridal gown for a wedding?

Skinny Dippers Sweets and Treats has just what you’re looking for.

The business that got its start making Welsh cookies for the Rotary Club of Mountain Top Farmers Market has grown into one that offers a variety of special treats.

“We can make treats for any occasion,’ said Katie Reilly, who is co-owner of Skinny Dippers Sweets and Treats with her mother, Christine Reilly. “Birthdays, graduations, baby or bridal showers, even weddings.”

She and her mother can come up with trays of cookies or individually packaged items such as favors for special events.

“We make treats for lots of birthday parties,” Reilly noted. “We get many requests for children’s parties. We recently made treats for a 60th birthday party.”

Recently, they created pretzels dipped in white chocolate with a blue trim for a baby shower for a baby boy. Another special request was for teachers in the Crestwood School District. They dipped pretzels in the Crestwood red and white colors and attached a “thank you” note to each.

Reilly said the business got its start during the summer of 2021 when they contacted John Kanyuck of the Rotary Club of Mountain Top about bringing baked goods to Rotary’s Farmers Market at Crestwood High School. Kanyuck asked if they could make Welsh cookies as the person who normally made the cookies couldn’t make it.

“We said we’d give it a try,” Reilly related. “They really went over big. People loved them.”

So, they kept coming back to the Farmers Market with their Welsh cookies and other treats. Reilly noted that in addition to the Welsh cookies, breads and cakes made with blueberries are very popular at the weekly market. Inspired by their success at the Farmers Market, they began looking into other events at which they could sell their products as well as making them for special events.

Reilly said she and her mother are open to trying different kinds of designs for their cookies and signature chocolate-dipped pretzels.

Skinny Dippers Sweets and Treats was voted Best Desserts in Mountain Peaks Best of Mountain Top Awards for 2023.
