Despite a steady and sometimes heavy rain, hundreds of youngsters along with parents and grandparents turned out for the annual Rice Township Easter egg hunt held on March 23.

Besides candy, there were dozens of prizes for youngsters who found special eggs with prize numbers inside. Two bicycles and a scooter were given away. One of the bicycles was donated by state Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-Plymouth) who attended the event.

Meanwhile, Dorrance Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary moved its event inside the fire hall where youngsters were able to meet the Easter Bunny and receive a bag of goodies. Special prizes were awarded to youngsters who found a numbered rubber duck inside an egg.

The Fairview/Wright townships Easter egg hunt was postponed to March 30.
