Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Council No. 6440, recently made a $500 donation to the Shine Women’s Center in Hazleton to support its mission. The donation was made through the Knight’s Aid and Support After Pregnancy (ASAP) program.
Aid and Support After Pregnancy is a featured program of the Knights of Columbus to support pregnant women, mothers, and their children, both born and unborn, by serving pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes.
The Shine Women’s Center is a free women’s center in West Hazleton and serves all of Luzerne County. It provides information, free services and practical support with a holistic and compassionate approach. They believe women and men have a right to get the information they need from a place that will not profit from their choice. All services are confidential and are provided at no cost.
“On behalf of everyone at the Shine Center, I want to thank the St. Jude Council for its continued support of our mission,” said Valerie White, Shine Women’s Center director. “I can’t say enough good things about the work done by these men.”
