The opportunity to see old friends, family reunions, volunteering with neighbors, and, of course, plenty of great food brought hundreds and hundreds of people to the 70th St. Jude Parish picnic Aug. 11 through 13 at the parish grove.

While potato pancakes, pierogi, piggies, haluski, ziti and meatballs, sausage and peppers and homemade baked goods were popular stands throughout the weekend, Sunday’s chicken barbeque drew throngs of people, many of whom stood in line for over 30 minutes for their dinner.

Equally as popular was the raffle basket tent where picnic goers took chances on dozens of prize baskets.
