Join Stairville United Methodist Church, 1790 Stairville Road in Mountain Top for spiritual yoga on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. Bring your own yoga mat. A donation basket will be available and donations are given to the church. The class lasts 1 hour, all levels welcome.

The Stairville UMC Community Library has changed its name to New Hope Wapwallopen Community Library. The new winter hours are Thursday 1 to 3 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Inclement weather closures will follow Crestwood School District weather policy of closures and early dismissals. All library closures will also be posted on Facebook. The New Hope Wapwallopen Community Library location is Stairville United Methodist Church located at 1790 Stairville Road in Wapwallopen. The New Hope Wapwallopen Charge consists of three churches: Stairville UMC, Faith UMC and Slocum UMC. ART EXHIBIT
The Hazleton Art League presents Dominican-born, internationally recognized poet/artist Pedro Gris’ exhibition Partículas que piensan, (Particles That Think), for the month of April. Gris’ style can be compared to cosmic abstraction, with controlled chaos of color and form. Admission is always free and open to the public. Gallery hours: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., closed Mondays. A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, the Art League welcomes donations from companies and individuals. Membership in the Art League is only $25 for the year. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Women will hold its spring rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 29, at the church located at 316 S. Mountain Blvd, Mountain Top. SOUP/DESSERT SALE
Emmanuel UCC, Dorrance, is holding a Soup/Dessert Sale in our fellowship hall 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on April 30. Walk-ins are welcome and pre-orders are suggested. MEET THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Interested in learning more about the Mountain Top Historical Society? Come and meet members of the Mountain Top Historical Society at the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library on Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m. The group will share its history, how it started, where it stands today and what are the plans for the future. PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The Kiwanis Club of Mountain Top will be serving the famous “all you can eat” pancake and sausage breakfast on Sunday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Crestwood Secondary Campus School Cafeteria. The menu also includes scrambled eggs, orange juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The cost is $9 per person, with children under 12 paying only $4. Please come out and enjoy the morning with your neighbors for a great cause. Kiwanis has been active in the Mountain Top community for well over 50 years, and proudly supports worthy causes such as book donation to local elementary schools, Crestwood Odyssey of the Mind teams, MS Kirby Library, Mountain Top Food Bank, Crestwood Backpack Program and other charitable programs that focus on the well-being of children. MIDDLE SCHOOL BOOK CLUB
The M.S. Kirby Library will host a middle school book club meeting for those in grades six through eight from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 9. The book “Teen Titans: Raven,” a graphic novel by Kami Garcia, will be discussed. Those in attendance will also enjoy some snacks and book club activities. SOCIAL CLUB MEETINGS
The Mountain Top Social Club meeting scheduled for May 9 has been cancelled. A brief meeting will be held at the Mother’s Day/Father’s Day luncheon on May 10. The meeting on May 23 will take place as scheduled. A June 7 trip is planned to Sight & Sound Theatre, and a July 20 trip to Wind Creek Casino. SPRING BBQ and CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT
St. Martins-in-the-Fields Church will host a barbecue and cornhole tournament from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 13 at American Legion Post No. 781, Mountain Top. Murphy’s Pub will cater the event which will feature pork barbeque, fried chicken, mac & cheese, baked beans and cookies. Iced tea and water are free. Beer is for sale. There will also be basket and 50/50 raffles, St. Martin’s famous Welsh cookies for sale, and live music by Steve Perillo & the Northeast Praise Band. Plus, you can enter the two-person team cornhole tournament, complete with cash prizes. You must have a pre-purchased ticket for the BBQ dinner. MEMORIAL DAY PIE SALE
Saint Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society is having a Memorial Day Pie Sale. The pies are homemade with a 10-inch graham cracker crust with cream cheese filling, topped with either Cherry or Blueberry. These need to be refrigerated. Pies are $12 each. Pie pick-up will be after masses in the rear of the Social Hall on Saturday, May 27, and Sunday, May 28.
