Onvo Travel Plaza, Blue Ridge Trail, Dorrance, held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Aug. 24.
The sate-of-the-art facility features Sunoco gas, truck diesel and a full-sized Burger King. The Dorrance location is Onvo’s first ground up construction of their new store prototype and features amenities including bean-to-cup coffee machines, two showers and a walk-in beer cooler area called the Beer Barn. The business will provide 70 jobs, a company official noted.
Located just off Exit 155 of Interstate 81, the location will also be home to Onvo’s first EV charging units, which are planned to be installed early this fall.
“We’re very excited to celebrate the second anniversary of our rebranding, which occurred last week, with the opening of this location,” Chief Business Development Officer Sonny Singh said of the project.
Onvo marked the occasion of its grand opening by making a $2,000 donation to Candy’s Place.
Founded in 1988 in Northeastern Pa., Onvo has grown into a network of more than 50 businesses, including 36 travel plazas, 23 quick-service and full-service restaurants, and six hotels located throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania and upstate New York. Onvo employs more than 1,000 team members throughout the area in various roles related to hospitality, customer service and petroleum distribution.
Andy’s job title is chief business development officer, Sonny’s is chief real estate officer.
