Wright Township held its annual Local Government Day on April 13.

Third-grade students from Rice Elementary, Fairview Elementary and St. Jude School had the opportunity to interact with members of the township police and public works departments, Wright Township Volunteer Fire Company, Dorrance Township Volunteer Ambulance, Mountain Top Ambulance and staff of District Magistrate Ferris Webby.

The students got to go inside the police department holding cell as well as the interior of a police vehicle. At the public works department students were able to inspect the different equipment used by road crews. A member of Webby’s staff explained what takes place in his courtroom.
