The Kiwanis Club of Mountain Top will hold its 41st annual golf tournament on Friday, June 2, at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club, Mountain Top.
The tournament is a captain-and-crew format. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. followed by dinner. Cost is $110 per golfer or $440 for a team. Sponsorships are also available. They include food and beverage sponsor for $800, which includes four golfer fees; golf ball sponsor for $500; hole sponsor $100; and friend sponsor $50.
Entry deadline is May 26. Entry fee checks with golfer name, phone number and email should be sent to Kiwanis Club of Mountain Top, 105 Cliff St., Apartment 2, Pittston, PA 18640.
Tourney chairman Brian McLaughlin said the tournament is the club’s primary fundraiser. He pointed out the main focus of Kiwanis is to support young people in the community participation and sponsorships of the event provide funds for the Kiwanis Club’s support of children’s programs and needs throughout Mountain Top. The tournament, he said, has helped the club support the Crestwood School District Odyssey of the Minds, the district’s Backpack Program, Crestwood High School Future Business Leaders Association, and provide books for students in grades K-2 at St. Jude School, Fairview and Rice elementary schools. The club also sponsors its summer Movies in the Park at Wright Township Park.
Additionally, the club has made donations to the St. Vincent de Paul food kitchen and the Salvation Army.
