The Mountain Top Area Community Association held its second annual Cops n’ Canines event on Sunday, Sept. 22 at Rice Twp park.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rice Twp. police K-9 unit. Township K-9 officer Brian Stout was present along with K-9 Maverick.

State Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-119) offered remarks along with Marla Conklin representing state Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27).

Activities included a doggie costume contest; best behaved dog contest; and a doggie trivia contest. Prizes were awarded to the youngest and oldest dogs present. Face painting was provided by Donna Bohn.

Participating vendors/groups included NEPA Pet rescue, Diamonds in the Ruff, Pretty Paws too, Unleashed K9 training, and Country Kennels.
