Scores of Mountain Top Republicans turned out for a petition signing event hosted recently by state Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-Plymouth) at Cavanaugh’s Grille.

Voters had the opportunity to sign nominating petitions for Republican candidates for state and national offices as well as the proposed county charter study commission.

Ryncavage introduced Rob Bresnahan who is seeking the GOP nomination to run against incumbent U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, who represents the 8th Congressional District. State Treasurer Stacy Garrity, who is seeking re-election, attended the event along with Ted Ritsick Jr. who is running for a spot on the proposed Luzerne County charter study commission. Petitions also were available for state Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27), who is seeking re-election but was unable to attend.
