Mountain Top’s newest business, Focus Floral, opened recently at 176 S. Mountain Blvd. The flower shop is owned by Hayley Forgatch, a Mountain Top native and 2015 Crestwood High School graduate.
Following high school, Forgatch studied at King’s College where she earned bachelor’s degrees in international business, French and accounting. While her degrees focus primarily on the business side, Forgatch said in an interview at her soft opening that her creative side has always been there.
“My mother is real estate agent,” the florist explained. “The property was on the market. I had a dream about doing this, so I went through with it.”
To accomplish her dream, she completed a 270-hour floral design course from the New York Institute of Art and Design.
Unlike supermarkets that offer cut flowers and arrangements, Forgatch pointed out she can provide her customers with customized arrangements as well as delivery.
“I could pretty much do whatever customer wants as long as I can find it with the supplier,” she offered. She will deliver within a 30-mile radius of her shop.
Forgatch said she is looking forward to providing Mountain Top and surrounding communities with flowers for weddings, funerals, proms, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Easter and other holidays.
She is excited about making flower arrangements for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday.
