Mountain Top celebrated St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. From bands, to dancers and special Irish themed menus, there was something to do for everyone.
The Ceol Mor Pipe and Drum band spent the weekend touring around the county in preparation for the celebration before making two stops in Mountain Top on the 17.
The first stop was at Mountain Top Pub & Eatery, which had a special menu including a corned beef dinner, Irish-themed desserts and special cocktails. The pub also hosted a St. Patrick’s Day-themed trivia game. The band played around patrons, including them in the action.
An hour later, the band took their set to Cavanaugh’s, where they were joined by the Emerald Isle Step Dancers. Cavanaugh’s also had a special menu, including ham and cabbage, potato pancakes and Irish nachos.
Other venues, including Ice House Pub, invited patrons to try their St. Patrick’s Day-themed menus, which included the Irish staple colcannon, which is mashed potatoes mixed with cabbage, onions and parsley.
Wherever you celebrated this St. Patrick’s Day, judging by the crowds of green, good spirits and lack of parking spaces, it’s clear Mountain Top had a great holiday.
