Crestwood’s varsity cheerleading competition squad is celebrating a major accomplishment after they placed seventh in the nation while competing at the most “prestigious high school national championship in the country.”

The Universal Cheerleading Association hosted its National High School Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., over the weekend of Feb. 11 to 13. The competition is the pinnacle of high school cheerleading, often the end goal that many teams practice for all year. Teams from all over the country come out to compete for the championship title and iconic white satin jackets.

The squad advanced to finals on Sunday, where they took their seventh place spot in the Small Game Day division. The team previously placed third at the UCA Pocono regional competition in the Small Game Day division back in December.
