HAZLETON — It was like clockwork Friday night. Whenever Hazleton Area needed a big play to keep a drive alive, Magnus Bibla was there to lay the hammer.

Crestwood scored in all three phases in a 35-point first quarter Friday night as the Comets rolled to a 69-7 victory over Hanover Area in a Wyoming Valley Conference non-divisional game.

BERWICK — Crestwood scored on its first four possessions Friday night. The other phases of football helped made it possible.

WRIGHT TWP. — On a night that featured milestones and records, Crestwood took home more than a 61-7 victory of Nanticoke Area in the quarterfinals of the District 2 Class 4A playoffs.

Several seniors in the MMI Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club participated in this year’s State Leadership Workshop (SLW) at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in the Pocono Mountains. Kate Malay, Jim Thorpe; Anden Karlick, Freeland; Emely Lopez-Rodriquez, Hazleton; Ty McDermott, White Haven: Jeffrey DeAngelo, Sugarloaf, Jessica Zheng, Jim Thorpe; John Schwear, Hazleton and Brenna Eckhart, Lehighton were the senior students who participated.

KINGSTON — Crestwood matched speed with speed on Nov. 2, containing a dangerous front line and limiting Selinsgrove to just three shots during a 2-0 shutout victory in the District 2-4 Class 2A subregional field hockey championship game.

The M.S. Kirby Library had fun Halloween activities for all ages on Oct. 29. Inside youngsters had the chance to unlock clues to get out of a spooky escape room. Outside younger children found games, treats and activities.

Go back a few weeks and it would be tempting to rubberstamp a Crestwood victory over Berwick in Saturday afternoon’s District 2 Class 4A semifinal football game.
