PLAINS TWP. — Those five runs in the top of the sixth inning Monday night looked like the final touches on a District 16 Little League Major Baseball championship for Plains.

PHILADELPHIA — Just enough offense in the first half.

PITTSTON — A couple hours after one group of Mountain Top all-stars trotted around the field with a District 16 championship banner, another bunch did the same.

WRIGHT TWP. — Just over four minutes stood between Crestwood and a district championship and there was no secret what was about to happen Friday night.

Crestwood scored in all three phases in a 35-point first quarter Friday night as the Comets rolled to a 69-7 victory over Hanover Area in a Wyoming Valley Conference non-divisional game.

WRIGHT TWP. — On a night that featured milestones and records, Crestwood took home more than a 61-7 victory of Nanticoke Area in the quarterfinals of the District 2 Class 4A playoffs.

DALLAS TWP. — The pass was perfectly placed for Dallas receiver Zach Paczewski. A sure touchdown, no doubt as he had his defender beaten.

PLAINS TWP. — Plains North took advantage of anything offered in Monday night’s District 16 Little League Major Baseball championship.

Dorrance Township Volunteer Fire and Ambulance and Wright Township Volunteer Fire Department held their first “Fire and Ice” community open house on Sunday, July 17, at Dorrance Township Volunteer Fire Co. headquarters. The event featured a display of fire equipment from both departments as well as the Dorrance Township ambulance, a Wright Township police vehicle, Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal, safety information from Geisinger Medical Center, Smokey Bear and free ice cream.

WRIGHT TWP. — The all-game rain falling at Crestwood High School only ensured that James Barrett and his Comets teammates had a blast.
