Rice Elementary, Crestwood Odyssey of the Mind teams shine

Rice Elementary and Crestwood Secondary School’s Odyssey of the Mind teams competed in the NEPA regionals tournament and placed third and first place, respectively.

Students stop school bus after driver suffers medical emergency

WILKES-BARRE TWP. — No students were injured as the driver of Crestwood Area School District bus suffered a medical emergency and became unresponsive while driving a bus with 13 Holy Redeemer High School students on board near the 600 block of Blackman Street.

Saint Jude eighth grade assembles birthday bags for those in need

Jars of peanut butter, canned spaghetti sauce, pasta and cereal; all things you would find in a donation box for the local food pantry. Balloons, vegetable oil, cake pan, streamers; usually not among those items collected. Yet the Saint Jude eighth-grade class decided that is just what they should collect to help those in need. Often food pantries do not stock items for visiting families to help them have a happy birthday. The eighth-grade class had the school community donate various items and the class then assembled the goodies into a “birthday in a bag” celebration. Items will be donated to local food pantries.

Food Truck Frenzy set for April 9 at Crestwood High School

Crestwood High School’s football program will be hosting it’s second annual Food Truck Frenzy.
