PLYMOUTH — The Wyoming Valley West Cheer Team recently attended the Rotary Club of Plymouth’s Annual Kids @ Kristmas present wrapping event.
The Kids @ Kristmas project was started by Rotary Past District Governor Paul “Budd” O’Malia. His vision for the club’s direction remains present in this project today.
The Rotary Club of Plymouth also conducted its annual Ringing the Bell for Salvation Army project at Plymouth Hometown Market. Rotarians and friends manned the kettle and battled the elements to raise money for the organization.
And the Rotary Club of Plymouth recently conducted its annual Feeding the Elderly Project at Dan Flood Towers and Plymouth Manor.
The Club fed more than 100 residents of Dan Flood Towers and Plymouth Manor.
The project was sponsored by Rotarians Thomas Hogan, Patrick Hogan, and their family.
Residents were treated to ham, turkey, kielbasa, all the trimmings, and a sweet treat from Santa as well.
Last week, the Plymouth Rotary Club held its annual Santa Claus Comes To Town parade on Dec. 4, along with all three fire companies, Plymouth Police Department, Borough Council, and Mayor Frank Coughlin and Plymouth Alive.
The Rotary Club handed out hot chocolate, candy treats, and toys to 100-plus families, while they had an opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and their faithful GPS system — Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
The Rotary Club of Plymouth, with the help of Santa Claus himself, also recently delivered more than 750 presents to four different Head Start facilities.
The Rotary Club utilized donations from numerous local businesses and personal contributions to support this effort.
Presents were delivered to the Edwardsville, Kingston, Plymouth, and Pittston Head Start locations.
