The Wyoming Valley Conference boys basketball coaches recently selected their divisional all-stars.

Wilkes-Barre Area junior guard David Jannuzzi was selected the Division 1 MVP. Wyoming Area sophomore guard Luke Kopetchny was chosen the Division 2 MVP.

Jannuzzi led Division 1 in scoring with a 20.8 average as the Wolfpack paced the division in scoring. He was second in free-throw percentage, hitting 86.2% from the foul line. He was third in 3-point field goals with 42.

Kopetchny led Division 2 in scoring, tossing in 21.0 points per game as the Warriors qualified for the PIAA state playoffs for the first time since 2006. He was second in free-throw percentage, connecting 75.8% from the foul line. He also added 24 3-point field goals.

Joining Jannuzzi on the first team were Crestwood junior Ayden Agapito, Dallas senior Jude Nocito, Hazleton Area senior Luis Guzman, Hazleton Area sophomore Dylan Stish and Pittston Area senior Silvio Giardina.

Joining Kopetchny on the first team were Berwick senior Julian Howie, Hanover Area senior Noah Dewey, Holy Redeemer senior David Popson, Wyoming Area senior Lukas Burkiewicz and Wyoming Seminary senior Antek Evan.

Wilkes-Barre Area’s Jim Lavan was named the Division 1 Coach of the Year. Wyoming Area’s Anthony Macario was selected the Division 2 Coach of the Year.

The Division 1 second team consisted of Dallas sophomore Pat Flanagan, Nanticoke Area junior Mathias Mitchell, Pittston Area sophomore Lucas Lopresto, Wilkes-Barre Area junior Mike Keating and Wyoming Valley West senior Navion Terry.

Selected to the Division 2 second team were Berwick senior Billy Hanson, Berwick senior Kaden Hickman, Holy Redeemer senior Brayden Sock, MMI Prep senior Nick Pantages and Tunkhannock junior Bode Lukasavage.
