WILKES-BARRE — A Fairview Township man apologized Wednesday for robbing the Mountain Top branch of PNC Bank when he told a clerk he “just killed someone.”
Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas sentenced Christopher J. Quinlan, 41, last known address as Arthur Circle, to two years, six months to 10 years in state prison on charges of robbery and terroristic threats. Quinlan pled guilty to the charges Dec. 4.
Quinlan was accused by Fairview Township police of robbing the PNC Bank branch on South Mountain Boulevard on Jan. 26, 2024, according to court records.
Quinlan was easily identified as the suspect as he was a customer of the bank, did not conceal his face during the robbery and having prior contact with police in Fairview Township.
“I accept full responsibility for my actions,” Quinlan said during the sentencing hearing.
Court records say Quinlan entered the bank through a rear door and approached a clerk saying, “Give me all your money now or I’ll kill you. Don’t mess with me because I just killed someone.”
As the clerk was placing money in a bag, Quinlan forcibly grabbed and fled the bank with the money bag, court records say.
Police in Rice and Wright townships and the Pennsylvnaia State Police, Troop P, Forensic Services Unit assisted in the investigation.
