Anyone who hasn’t visited Soul Shine Metaphysical Gift Shop and Holistic Healing Center in Mountain Top should take advantage of their fifth anniversary celebration which will be held July 19-21.

The celebration is not just aimed at marking Soul Shine’s five years in business, but also to celebrate its growth over the last half decade.

During the three-day anniversary celebration, customers will have the opportunity to explore the new inventory, register for door prizes, take advantage of sales and meet Soul Shine’s Holistic Healing Center’s practitioners.

While the shop, located at 359 S. Mountain Blvd., offers a variety of gifts, its owner Joann Ready emphasizes Soul Shine it is not your typical gift shop. She points out its shelves are lined with many healing products not typically found in gift shops throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. Those products include essential oils that can be used topically, aromatically, or in some cases ingested, healing crystals and “intention candles” designed for specific purposes.

And the inventory of products is constantly revolving to meet the needs of customers, Ready pointed out. “I’m always looking for new stuff (for the gift shop),” she related. “Something to make our customers happy,” she added.

“Joann is constantly trying to meet people’s needs,” added Alyssa Byrne, one of the holistic practitioners at Soul Shine. “And they are quality products.”

Besides the metaphysical gift shop, Soul Shine offers “Hands that Heal,” holistic and metaphysical healing modalities.

“No other center does what we do. Not in one place,” Ready stated. She described the holistic center as a place where people can come to find alternative ideas to complement traditional medicine. “We often get referrals from local doctors,” Ready noted. Our practitioners work with people with high blood pressure, eating disorders, depression, anxiety and grief as well as pre and post-surgery issues.”

She describes Soul Shine’s clients as a “melting pot.” “We have clients from all kinds of religious beliefs, nationalities and ethnic cultures,” she related. “We are very open. Our goal is to make Soul Shine a very comfortable atmosphere.”

Among the modalities offered at Soul Shine are Reiki, ear seeding, Kambo, sound healing, infrared sauna, Ion Cleanse foot detox, mediumship/channeling, past life regression, Tarot card readings, red light therapy, and hypnotherapy.

Ready, who is a Reiki master practitioner, explained the art relaxes the body and allows it to heal itself. “Reiki puts the body in a better state to heal,” she related.

One of the four practitioners at Soul Shine, Byrne, whose practice is Healing in the Cards, offers Tarot card readings, channeling, gallery (group) mediumship, hypnotherapy, and past life regression. The past life regression, Byrne explained, places someone in a hypnotic state and walks them through their present life back through a past life to experience what that was like.

Tracy McGeever Cornelius is the Positive Vibes practitioner at Soul Shine. She offers Reiki sessions, Reiki infused sound healing, ear seeding, private and small group yoga classes, meditation, and Cacao and sound healing ceremony classes.

Practitioner of Empowered Wellness Solutions is Nikki O’Malley, a master Kambo practitioner.

Kambo is a healing practice that originated in South America. It’s named after the natural secretions (peptides) of the tree frog from the Amazon forest. Indigenous people have used Kambo for centuries to heal and cleanse the body by strengthening its natural defenses.

Today, it is used by practitioners to cleanse the body of toxins, as well as treating numerous health conditions. O’Malley credits use of Kambo in her recovery from Lyme Disease which at one time had her confined to a wheelchair.

“Kambo has been found to help people reduce pain,” O’Malley explained. “It is used to help people with migraines, chronic pain and even help people detox from chemo treatment,” she noted.

One of the few Master Kambo practitioners on the northeast part of the country, O’Malley noted people have come from across the United States to seek help from her through Kambo.

The practitioners point out that while they have individual specialties, they work together to bring new concepts to Soul Shine. They also credit Ready for her leadership at Soul Shine.

“We’re always putting stuff together, working with each other to do different things,” said Cornelius. “We’re constantly evolving.”

“The last five years has been an incredible journey for us,” said O’Malley.

“We would be lost without Joan (Ready),” Added Byrne. “Without her, we wouldn’t be here.
