From the Broadway Tavern in Mountain Top to White Haven to Drums, there are scores of small businesses and the owner of one of those has come up with an idea to bring customers into those shops this Christmas holiday shopping season.
Joann Ready, owner of Soul Shine Holistic Healing & Metaphysical Gift Shop in Mountain Top, already has 17 businesses interested in participating and hopes to get many more on board for a Holiday Trail project.
She is hosting a planning session on Wednesday, June 19, at Soul Shine, 359 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top.
The idea, she said, is for participating businesses to offer promotions and door prizes over a couple week period between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Customers, she explained, would be able to pick up a Holiday Trail pass card that they get stamped when visiting a store. Those pass cards would make them eligible for a prize drawing at the end of the program. Visitors would not have to make a purchase to get a stamp, she said.
‘The idea is to get people to visit the many stores and see what they offer,” she explained. “I think it would be a fun thing for people to do over the holidays.”
The exact time frame of the Holiday Trail has yet to be worked out, something she expects to accomplish during planning meetings over the next few months. Any business interested in participating of looking for more information or share ideas can contact Ready through email at mtpholidaytrail@gmail.com.
Ready also said she is hoping the event would be an impetus to revitalize the Small Business Alliance which went dormant during the COVID pandemic.
