The Joe “Lucky” Lukashunas Memorial 2023 Spring Turkey contest winners were presented awards by the Honey Hole Longbeards Chapter of the NWTF at a ceremony held at Dave’s Gun Shop in Drums. Winners in each division received an engraved plaque, gift certificates from Dave’s Gun Shop, NWTF memberships and dinners at the 2024 banquet, along with frictions calls donated by the HHLB Chapter.
Ty Herness, of Hazleton, downed his spring gobbler with his father during the youth day. Good calling and a perfect setup made for a successful hunt. The bird’s total NWTF score was 54.50 points in the junior division.
Barry Justofin, of Drums, harvested his spring gobbler while hunting in early May during the adult season. The bird’s total NWTF score was 65.25 points for first place in the adult division.
The Honey Hole Longbeards Chapter of the NWTF will be holding their annual 2024 Hunting Heritage Banquet at Edgewood in the Pines in Drums on Saturday, April 6. Doors open at 4 p.m. For more information contact Gary Gensil at 570-760-5962.
