St. Jude Knights of Columbus Council No. 6440 recently made a donation of winter coats to the children of Mountain Top through the Coats for Kids program.

The goal of the Coats for Kids program is to ensure that no child in North America goes without a coat during the winter season. Through the dedication of councils across the United States and Canada, hundreds of thousands of new winter coats have been distributed to children since the program’s inception.

The initiative is part of the Faith in Action program calling Knights to serve others.

The 72 coats were presented by Council No. 6440 Grand Knight Mark Rongone to faculty and volunteers from the Crestwood School District who will distribute the coats to those in need.

St. Jude Knights of Columbus Council No. 6440 is one of 16,000 Knights of Columbus councils that make up the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded in 1882 to assist working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States, today the approximately two million members of the Knights put their faith into action through a broad range of charitable causes locally, nationally and internationally with financial contributions and hands-on service.
