Immanuel Christian School has named Patricia Torres its associate head of school and Upper School principal at Immanuel Christian School.
She holds two master’s degrees: one in Educational and District Administrative Leadership and the other in General and Special Education. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.
Torres realized that she was passionate about education after serving as a youth pastor for five years. She started working as an early childhood teacher and worked her way up to teaching college level courses. After years of teaching, she decided to enter into the administrative field, where she has flourished as a leader. She has conducted seminars on child safety, school violence prevention and intervention, and has been a member of an independent school accreditation committee.
Over the past 20 years she has served in multiple educational leadership roles, including Lead Teacher, Dean of Students, Head of Lower School, and Principal for various educational institutions and age groups.
Immanuel Christian School CEO Susan Selby said, “Mrs. Torres went through a rigorous interview process, and it was clear that she was the next person to join ICS leadership. She is a problem solver who leads with empathy and grace. This summer, she has already brought creative and effective ideas for inspiring students to love learning.”
Torres shared that she values leading with empathy and God’s grace while building community amongst staff and students. Education and a love for Jesus are driving forces in her life. Torres believes that planting seeds at a young age can bring fruitful children who will blossom into future entrepreneurs and leaders. Mrs. Torres is married and has three children, one of which will be joining ICS this year.
Immanuel Christian School provides K through 12th grade education, with class sizes under 18 students. Their mission is to provide a financially accessible, grace-filled, Christ-centered education shaping students to become lifelong learners who serve their community with integrity.
