Mountain Top Area Little League’s Avery Brace has qualified for and will compete in the East Regional finals of the T-Mobile Little League Home Run Derby.

The East Regional will take place on Sunday, July 30, at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, the home of the Kansas City Royals.

In 2023, Mountain Top Area Little League hosted its first ever local qualifier for the T-Mobile Little League Home Run Derby. More than 50 baseball and softball players participated in the event, and Brace’s 45 home runs were enough to earn his place in the East Regional finals. If Brace finishes in the top five at the East Regional finals, he’ll advance to the national finals in Williamsport, which will take place during the Little League World Series.

In the local qualifier, Brace’s 45 home runs topped Matt Rodgers, who finished in second with 29, and Teddy Taylor, who finished third with 25.

In the girls competition, Kayla Sinavage took home the top prize with 24 total home runs, followed by Ari Martinez in second with 23 and Holly Rodgers in third with 14.
