From diamond engagement rings to watch repair, family-owned Dunay Jewelers of Wilkes-Barre has met the needs of its many customers for more than half a century.
Located at 428 Hazle Ave., Dunay Jewelry opened its doors in 1963 just a few feet from its current location and 60 years later is still operated by members of the Dunay family. The current owner is David Pavlick Jr., nephew of longtime owner John Dunay. Pavlick is one of two jewelers at Dunay’s, the other being John Morgan, great nephew of John Dunay.
Customers who stop by most often are greeted by the smiling faces of Nancy Pavlick or Deana Morgan.
John Morgan pointed out that Dunay’s is a full-service jewelry store where customers can find everything from diamond engagement rings and wedding bands to religious medals. He noted that Dunay’s jewelers can hand-fabricate diamond engagement rings, mounting diamonds in settings in stock or customers can select settings from many catalogs. The store also offers a large selection of wedding bands and again customers also have the option of selecting a band from a catalog. Dunay noted the jewelry store offers customers a selection of both mined and “lab-grown” diamonds.
Dunay’s also offers a wide variety of colored-stone jewelry, sterling silver jewelry and watches. Sizing of rings and watch repair are also available.
Additionally, Dunay’s has an estate jewelry section where John Morgan pointed out a selection of better-quality jewelry is on hand. The business also buys both gold and silver.
