Crestwood girls lacrosse team held a Morgan’s Message game recently when the Comets faced off against Scranton Prep.

Mogran’s Message is a national organization that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics, according to its website.

Crestwood’s Malaxa girls, a youth recreation league, were incorporated into the team introductions to show support.

Crestwood players created posters that decorated the field to empower everyone to advocate for mental health. Captains Julia Glowacki and Isabella Caporuscio as well as Hannah Ziegler summarized the awareness game for the audience prior to the game.

Both teams wore warm up shirts to with the Morgan’s Message’s logo. Morgan was a highly successful high school lacrosse player recruited to play at Duke women’s lacrosse. Following a knee injury in her sophomore year, she suffered from severe depression and anxiety and eventually took her life.
