The tradition of the sixth-grade Seder meal continued the week before Easter in the Saint Jude cafeteria. The sixth-grade class hosted the fifth-grade class and were led by Sister Chiara Marie Stempfle, SCC. Students read from traditional prayers, recalling why Passover is celebrated and its rich tradition among the Jewish people. Traditional symbols and foods were presented and discussed; from the candles reminding all of God’s light, to the washing of one’s hands, symbolizing the cleansing of our hearts from sin. Students partook of traditional Seder foods such as parsley dipped in salt water, crackers, and apples.
