Butcher Bob’s BBQ Restaurant is open for business with an expanded menu at its new location at 12 S. Mountain Blvd. in Fairview Township.
The popular barbeque restaurant, known for its smoked meats, recently moved from Dorrance Township to its new location near the Crestwood Pharmacy, a location its owner Bob Gada said brings the business closer to the center of Mountain Top.
Chef Bob Loomis said the new location has a much larger kitchen with new equipment that gives him the opportunity to offer an expanded and more creative menu.
“We will continue to offer all the favorites our customers enjoyed at our previous location,” said Loomis. “But we’ve added some new items,” he noted.
The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It closes at 7 p.m. Sunday and is closed on Wednesdays.
Loomis, who has been a chef for about 35 years, said Butcher Bob’s breakfasts are a big hit among customers. Among the more popular breakfast items are the corned beef hash, smoked brisket and on weekends, eggs Benedict. Also popular are Loomis’ loaded potatoes which include peppers, onions and bacon all tossed in the house Buffalo sauce and the smoked western omelet which includes the smoked brisket.
“We also get a lot of people stopping in for our breakfast sandwiches,” Loomis pointed out.
Butcher Bob’s has added fried chicken to its dinner menu which now also includes a Caesar salad with chicken and, of course, their popular smoked macaroni and cheese.
The restaurant has a liquor license with a bar that seats about eight customers.
