Two Crestwood High School wrestlers captured first place and another took home a silver medal at the recent Wyoming Valley Conference wrestling championships.

Lincoln and Magnus Bibla won gold medals at 189 and 215 pounds, respectively, while Santino Casarella placed second at 133 pounds in the tournament held at Wilkes-Barre Area High School.

Lincoln Bibla battled back from a 16-5 deficit to Wyoming Valley West’s Jake Griffin to earn a second-period pin to capture his first conference championship. Bibla used his upper body strength to drive Griffin to the mat late in the second period to garner the pin. Bibla had three pins entering the final.

In the 215-poind final, senior Magnus Bibla, a state qualifier last year, pinned Wyoming Valley West’s John McLaughlin in 2:32.

In the 133-pound final, Casarella dropped an 11-5 decision to Wyoming Area’s Johnny Stone.

The Comets finished in fourth place in the team race which was won by Wyoming Valley West.
