Mountain Top residents Jim Brogna and Priscilla Cooney will host a fundraiser as part of their ongoing efforts for Allied Services.

The fundraiser, Summer Sunday Funday, will take place at Cavanaugh’s Grille in Mountain Top from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21. Tickets are $25 and include a variety of beers, wines and food. Proceeds from the event will benefit children and adults with disabilities at Allied Services. Tickets are available in advance at alliedservices.org/summer or by calling Priscilla at 570.362.2701.

Jim Brogna, vice president of Strategic Partnership Development at Allied Services, and Priscilla Cooney, MSN, OCN, CRNP at Medical Oncology Associates are among the 72 volunteers raising funds and participating in the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon on behalf of Allied Services. The annual charity campaign hosted by Allied Services and WNEP TV has a new name – Team Allied Services and You – this year, but the same mission: to inspire fitness, challenge disability, and change lives.

“Thanks to funds raised during the last 12 years, we have helped so many pediatric patients with Cerebral Palsy, autism and other developmental or congenital disorders, plus countless adults who’ve suffered stroke, Parkinson’s brain injury and spinal cord injured residents from across our Mountain Top community,” commented Brogna. “The new team name reflects the critical importance of EVERYONE, not simply the marathon runners, in helping out this year.”

Between now and November, Brogna, Cooney, and other runners will raise funds that will enable Allied Services to invest in rehab technologies and programs that improve the lives of patients and residents served by the non-profit health system. This is not the first time Brogna and Cooney have volunteered their time as part of the marathon team. A love of running and a commitment to helping others keeps them coming back.

“Allied Services provides services for many of my patients,” remarked Cooney. “I can’t thank them enough for all they do for my patients.”
