Hundreds of people turned out for the annual Mountain Top National Night Out held Aug. 2 at Wright Twp. Park. The event was sponsored by the police departments of Fairview, Rice and Wright townships.
Law enforcement participants included representatives of the three police departments, U.S. Marshal’s Service, Pennsylvania Game Commission, and Pennsylvania State Police, Hazleton. Additionally, volunteer fire and ambulance departments from across Mountain Top will have equipment on display. Also scheduled to participate are representatives of the U.S. Army.
Community organizations participating included Rotary Club of Mountain Top, Northeast Highway Safety, Victims Resource Center, Murielle’s Place, Soul Shine, Mountain Top Historical Society, Mountain Top Area Community Association, The Domestic Violence Service Center, NEPA Pet Fund and Rescue, Pennsylvania Department of Health, The Women’s Club, and CDE Exotics. Free pony rides were offered by Dream Katchers pony rides.
The KRZ Skybox provided entertainment. A Geisinger Health System helicopter flew in, and Fidelity Bank provided free ice cream.
