Crestwood’s boys track and field team finished second at the District 2 Class 3ATrack and Field Championships held May 17 and 18 while the girls team placed sixth.
The two teams combined to crown four district champions at the meet.
On the boys side, Ethan Shudak won the shotput with a throw of 50 feet, 3 1/2 inches, and Isaac Mertz won the pole vault with a vault of 12-6. Shudak also finished third in the javelin with a throw of 167-6 and third in the discus with a throw of 141-5.
On the girls side, Julia Lazo won the pole vault with a vault of 11-6, and Molly DeMarzo won the 3,200-meter run in 11 minutes, 33.10 seconds. DeMarzo also finsihed fourth in the 1,600 in 5:17.07.
Here’s how the rest of the Crestwood competitors that reached the finals fared at districts:
• The boys 3,200 relay team finsihed fourth in 8:37.68.
• Nash Green finished fifth in the 3,200 in 10:20:19.
• Noah Dunnum finished fifth in the 100 in 11.23 and fourth in the 200 in 22.90.
• The boys 400 relay team finished second in 44.38.
• Bryce Vieney finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 20-3.
• Zaiden Kaminsky finished seventh in the 400 in 53.57.
• Jack Scanlan finished sixth in the 800 in 2:04.52.
• Jack Gzemski and Adam Wood finsihed tied for second in the high jump with jumps of 5-11.
• The girls 3,200 relay team finished third in 10:06.96.
• Ella Novelli finished fourth in the 3,200 in 11:48.14.
• Kayla Kresge finished third in the 100 hurdles in 16.15.
• The girls 400 relay team finished sixth in 52.16.
• The girls 1,600 relay team finsihed eighth in 4:24.02.
