The Saint Jude School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recently held inductions at Saint Jude Church in front of the upper school students, as well as friends and family members. Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship and Character, the five tenets of the society, were highlighted during the ceremony with examples of student volunteer work and achievements being presented. Eighth-grade students outlined the responsibilities of the new members as part of one of the nation’s oldest, largest and most prestigious student recognition programs. Students were challenged, by Principal Sister Ellen Fischer, to live up to the high ideals of the organization and to make their school and community better through their efforts.
