Lent is being observed from March 2 until April 14. Every season local eateries create a special menu for those who abstain from meat during the 40 day period, traditionally these menus will include seafood and pizza.
Abe’s Hot Dogs
Abe’s Hot Dogs at 315 South Mountain Boulevard is currently hosting $5 Fridays throughout Lent. their menu includes a fish & chips basket, crab cakes with fries, clam strips with fries, and a shrimp basket with fries, all $5 each. They also have pierogies and potato pancakes, which are a crowd favorite.
Mountain Top Pub & Eatery
Mountain Top Pub & Eatery located at 371 South Mountain Boulevard released their Lent menu specials and it has great options for every palette.the menu includes fish & chips, battered fish sandwich, Cajun catfish Po’ boy, bar pies, & a pagash bar pie, and will be in effect every Friday until the end of Lent. The pub will still have daily specials and the standard menu is always available.
Ice House Pub
Ice House Pub at 2658 Nuangola Road has an extensive menu including an “all-you-can- eat beer battered fish fry” for $14.99 that will be served every Friday during Lent. they will also be serving haluski, pierogies, shrimp, mini potato pancakes.
Four Blooms Restaurant will be serving house made pierogies every Friday through lent as well.
