Each edition Mountain Top resident Joe Sainclair will share a photo with Mountain Peaks readers.
This week, Sainclair found a state subject. Now known as the Kirby Episcopal House, Graystone Terrace was built in 1914 by Fred Morgan Kirby and his wife Jessie for use as a summer home. Now a retreat and conference center, it still towers over the rest of Mountain Top from high atop a hill in Glen Summit.
Sainclair, a Crestwood graduate, teaches English and public speaking at the school and has been an avid explorer of nature and abandoned ruins since high school. He’s married and has two children in the district. You can find him on Facebook and YouTube at JTS Explorations.
