The Joe “Lucky” Lukashunas Memorial 2021 Spring Turkey contest winners were presented awards by the Honey Hole Longbeards Chapter of the NWTF at a ceremony held at Dave’s Gun Shop in Drums. Winners in each division received an engraved plaque, gift certificates from Dave’s Gun Shop, NWTF memberships and dinners at the 2022 banquet, along with frictions calls donated by the HHLB Chapter.
Ty Herness, of Hazleton, downed his spring gobbler with the help of his father John Herness, during mid-May in the adult season. Good calling and a perfect setup made for a successful hunt. The bird’s total NWTF score was 55 points in the junior division.
Brody Herness, of Hazleton, harvested his spring gobbler while hunting early May during the adult season. The bird’s total NWTF score was 63 points for first place in the adult division.

Also the Honey Hole Longbeards Chapter of the NWTF will be holding their annual 2022 Hunting Heritage Banquet at Edgewood in the Pines in Drums on Saturday, March 12. Doors open at 4 p.m.
